| One lesson to take away from this book is that it's okay to make mistakes. Remember when you were a kid and making mistakes wasn't an issue. To be successful with almost anything in life is to take some risks. Now Excel probably looks very complicated to you that it can be almost overwhelming all the things it can do. Think of anything you learned in your life. At first it seemed hard, almost impossible, but now you don't even think about it. Excel is a complicated tool. Think about a piano. You can go to it and hit the keys but the music will sound bad. To play music on it will take time and effort. If you progress slowly and make accomplishments it won't But for now, assume that all the things it has will bring you great benefits. Learning Excel and almost anything worthwhile takes time. Excel is no different. Just like you can't learn to ride a bike or swim without doing the activity, you can't learn Excel without hands-on experience. But the first lesson is to play and have fun. Some people worry that they'll mess something up. That won't happen. Don't be afraid to feel stupid and try something new. It's the only way to learn. Open Excel in a Blank workbook and play with it. ![]() |
